School For the Blind In Ghana - We need your help!
As we have mentioned in the last entry, WAF has started to gather materials to build up a library for the School for the Blind in Cape Coast, Ghana.
We have already gathered together some braille books and Books on Tape/CD. But, we need to gather a great deal more together and start shipping!
Take a look around your house....do you have any "Books on Tape/CD" you might want to donate? How about braille books, equipment or supplies? We also need good used or new CD Players or Cassette Players.
These items may be sent to WAF Postage Free as material for the blind. Once we receive the items we will label them in braille as needed and process them on to the school!
Also, please remember....WAF is a 501(c)C charitable organization so all donations are tax deductable up to fair market value!!
If you can help please contact me for a postal address for WAF here on My Space or from the e-mail link on our main webpage.
Thanks!

School For The Blind - Cape Coast, Ghana
WAF have started to work with a new school for the blind in Cape Coast, Ghana. This school is rather new and has been merged into an existing school for the deaf. Previous to this blind youth had to travel long distances to reach a school and obtain an education.
Like many people with special needs in developing nations these children need all the help they can get to thrive and reach their true potential.
That is why WAF has decided to assist these children in any way we can.
Currently we are seeking donations of braille equipment and supplies that we can gather together and ship. This could include writers, paper, books, recorded material, equipment, etc.
* We are a a tax exempt organization so all donations are tax deductable! *
If you are able to donate equipment, supplies or cash please drop us an e-mail for posting instructions.

Liberian Refugees at Buduburam - Emergency!
As many of our "friends" know we have been working to assist Liberian Refugee children at the Buduburam Refugee Camp in Accra. However, things have taken a turn for the worse. The government of Ghana has decided to deport all the Liberian refugees. Reports indicate this will happen within the next few weeks.
The reasons given for these actions are different depending on which source is reporting the story. For example & for more info you can see: http://newliberian.com/?p=329 or http://allafrica.com/stories/200804020691.html . But, no matter what the reason for the deportation may be it will be very hard for the children. Many will be forced to return to Liberia alone.
I have just yesterday received an e-mail from the head of the school. He wrote the following:
"I sure you have been monitoring news from Ghana
regarding the Liberian refugees. The situation is
quite worrisome that we have decided to return our
projects to Liberia.
We need money to transport our 25 computers, 30 plastic
chairs and one 6.5KVA generator. I am wondering if
your organization could be of help."
The school is trying to save the equipment it has managed to build up so that they may carry on in Liberia. They indicated that they have secured a building to set up again when they are back in Liberia...though it needs repair.
Right now we wanted to send out a call for help... If we can raise any special funds for this school we can assist them. But, the need is great and the time short. - If you are interested in making a donation specifically for this emergency please donate on line at our website at:
www.WorldActionFoundation.org and send us a note to let us know that you want the funds used to assist the Liberian Refugee School! - If you will make a donation by post please send your donation to: World Action Foundation - Attn. William Dollarhide - 14650 NW Cornell Road, Suite 10 - Portland, OR. 97229 * Checks/Money Orders should be made payable to: "World Action Foundation"
***Please Pass This Request Along To Anyone You Know That May Want To Help!***
Thank You!
